No limit holdem

The City: London 4/6/2000 The Girl: Kerstin The Game: No-limit What is no limit? Is it an attitude? Is it a balls out perspective on life that always ends up in a all or none position? Is it wrong or undeniably the only way a real man can live his life to the fullest? April 6, 2000. Sunshine in London is as rare as guys from Servite being normal. Occasionally it happens, but don't expect it. this particular day, sunshine actually decided to show. I am slightly involved with this German girl Kerstin who I met on this wonderful April afternoon. the plan was no plan. We met in Central London and unatimouslu voted on a picnic. Now I always say this to myself. I don't know what the rest of my friends are doing, but god, wouldn't it be nice if they were doing what I was doing. Laying down in the Park, face absorbing light rays, and a beautiful girl feeding you grapes. Only in the movies. After an hour of talking about hopeless nothings, I went to push this romantic moment to the next level. After putting a 50 pence ($.80) bet on Phil Mickelson to win the Masters (god I love London and sports betting) we move to the Hiltion Park Lane, 26th Floor and my favorite Executive lounge. They should know me there by first name, but that's not really a good thing. I reach the pinicle of my day as I overlook London holding my 3rd glass of champagne with Kerstin on one arm and talking on the house corless phone on the other. I true but false feeling of overwhelming dominance. I'll take it. Now london and vegas differ in many ways, but one nice thing here is that after a afternoon like this,I can walk to the Casino. In Vegas, well there is only Casino and Casino.
8pm Sharp, Poker tournment 30 pounds($50) No-Limit. God this excites me for there is not to many No-limit games in LA that I can afford. Altough my showing is not that good, only like one hour, the cash games was were it was at. (that's regular games for us, they call it cash games). Here's the hand. Omaha 50 pound buy in, no-limit. I'm holding 9 7 7 K. King and 7 were suited and so was the 9 and other 7. Before the flop, some guy makes it 4 pounds to come in from 2, then some son of a bitch makes it fucking 20. Well, I was lots of outs, any of the 2 flushes, and hopefully a 7. So 5 players were in and they contributed 24 by this time, I might as well see the flop. The Flop goes Ace, Spade, Spade. Now I got two spades in my hand, the Ace of Clubs for Back door, but you know I'm going to Stay in. I check and the fool who made it 20 before the flop behind me makes it fucking 75 pounds ($126). No its up to me as everyone falls out. Some players never play No-limit because they can't handle the slings. Its like standing on a cliff. One wrong move and your dead. I look at the chips and think no guts no glory. I have see plenty if days before with no money, and one more can be too bad. I only have 34 pounds in front of me and shoove in all in saying all in. Right as I did this, I thought, shit I only have 1.25 in my pocket for the bus. I should of kept a pound. Then the turn comes, Spade. My flush is only to the nine, but it was good enough. I put him for bullets (AAs) and flopping a set. Usually this was not a good call, but before the flop, 5 players betting 20 each, the gamble becomes valid. I count my winnings of 190 pounds. Of course I don't leave at this point, but sign up for the 100 pound ($167) table. This might seem like a huge hand, but at this table it was usual. At this point I can not stop thinking of this tournement in Paris this weekend.
Matt Dameon in the end of Rounders can't stop thinking of the Mirage an Vegas. I can't stop thinking of Paris and Aviation Club de France. We'll see. Today I am on top of the world. Tomorrow is work as usual, and purchasing of my 29 pound student fare one night Paris Eurostar pass. Then Saturday, I will come out and my destiny is in my control. The only limits there are those I set for myself. No-limit!
