Movie Review: The Great Debaters(Denzel)

The Great Debaters

When Denzel is at the plate, you can expect a home run. Not everytime, but a lot. This one would go over the green monster at Fenway.

In his 2nd film that he has directed, Denzel stumbled on a great true story of young black debaters who overcame adversity and racisim in the deep south during 1935. We have often seen these really strict professors with slightly unorthodox methods like in Stand and Deliver or Freedom Writers take their underdogs to triumph. With good performances from himself and an outstanding supporting role from none other then Forest Witaker, this feel good movie can't go wrong. (unless you are part of the KKK)
