The other slams you can just purchase a ticket on the day pretty simple. It's not that easy at Wimbeldon. People here are nuts for this. Overnight tents, 2 hours lines, craziness. However I got there at 4pm, sat in a line on a field for 2.5 hours, and then got in for £14. Then I had to purchase a £5 resold ticket for the better courts. I am in London, I have no excuse for not coming.
