There's ribs with BBQ, then there's BBQ ribs.

You can broil ribs then slab BBQ sauce on it which takes about 20 minutes total. Of course today we learned the correct way.

Made our own sauce, brought to a boil, under the broiler for 10 minutes to burn of fat and caramelize, sealed in the sauce covered with cling and foil for 1.5 hours 300 degrees. Sauce then heated on the stove with honey to balance acidity. brushed on the ribs both sides and back under the broiler 3 times. Comes right off the bone....and that's the real way.
